Final thoughts.

As I mention every year, attending the CanJam is a unique experience like no other because no matter how much you read about the audio gear or discuss it with your friends online, nothing can substitute the experience of being able to do this in person with your ears. It’s always great to see old friends and to meet new faces, including our diverse Watercooler crew from Head-fi. And the same goes for manufacturers and retailers, many of whom I stay in touch with throughout the year over emails and PMs, and only get a chance to see face-to-face during the show. Plus, being approached by your readers who thank you for emptying their wallets and share with you about the creative ways they hide receipts from their wives is always priceless!

Watercoolers

Again, I can only speak from my experience of seven NYC CanJams and based on what I heard from other attendees and show organizers who told me this was probably yet another biggest CanJam to date. I ran into people from the East Coast and West Coast, Canada, the UK, and even audiophiles from SGP. And just like in previous years, the balance between desktop and portable gear remained the same at the NYC show where you will find more desktop amps and full-size headphones than DAPs and IEMs. No doubt, at the upcoming CanJam SGP it will be the opposite where the majority of products are going to be IEMs and DAPs. But luckily, we still get spoiled by many exotic IEM releases Musicteck brings to the NYC show.

And just like that, after all this waiting, CanJam NYC 2024 was over in the blink of an eye, and the waiting for 2025 begins! Wish we could have two shows a year in NYC, but with other Global CanJams around the corner, I’m already looking forward to more impressions and reports from other Head-fiers and Watercoolers!

And last but not least, a BIG Thank You to CanJam Show producer, Ethan, and the entire Head-fi crew including Jude, Brian, Warren, Joe, and all the volunteers for bringing CanJam to us and allowing us to enjoy this hobby to its full potential!
