You spin me right ‘round, baby, right ‘round!

PROS: 3D-axes patented design, works with both IEMs and TWS, very secure fit of a dual-layer tube, comfortable to wear, ear-friendly silicone material.

CONS: sound improvement depends on the individual ear/earcanal anatomy.

The product was provided to me free of charge for the review purpose in exchange for my honest opinion.

Preamble / Intro.

I review a lot of IEMs and often being asked to recommend eartips for the best comfort and sound improvement.  The selection of eartips is crucial to any universal in-ear monitors and will affect the sound depending on earcanal seal and the insertion depth.  Since we all have a unique inner and outer ear anatomy, sound changes are subjective because I’m describing how a particular set of eartips sounds with a specific pair of universal IEMs and my custom ears.

Also, the eartips selection has the biggest impact on sound and should be the first step when trying new IEMs before you switch sources and cables.  Described by audiophiles as tip-rolling, you have to try different eartips to determine which one works better with your ears.  And as many are aware, all eartips are not created equally.  That is why we have a number of premium eartips manufacturers who continue to work on the design and the material improvements.

SpinFit is one of those well-known manufacturers with over 20yrs of R&D experience and 40+ accumulated patents focusing specifically on eartips development.  While the core of their design remains the same, the rest continuous to evolve and to improve for regular IEMs and TWS earphones.  Their latest release is Omni which I would like to talk about in more details today.

Unboxing.

Arrived in a compact minimalistic packaging, it had a very efficient plastic-free design from 100% recyclable paper material.  Considering such a small size of the box, SpinFit was still able to fit a lot of useful info about the key features and various sizes of Omni eartips, all printed on the back.

The front of the packaging box was also personalized with unique colors corresponding to different eartips sizes, such as SS (pale down – yellow), S (haze rose – pink), MS (serene sky – blue), M (indigo mist), L (deep forest – green), and XL (steel forest – grey).  Each box includes one pair of eartips placed inside the inner holder.

Design.

The design of all SpinFit eartips is based around their so-called “spinnable 3D axis” which allow a comfortable bend of the nozzle tube to fit the individual earcanal angle without pinching the tube which could block the sound.  SpinFit offers eartips for regular IEMs and TWS earphones, including different core diameters, different tube length, and different shapes of the cap.

Omni is designed for IEMs and TWS with a nozzle diameter of 4.0-5.5mm.  The shape of the cap is a bit wider and more rounded at the top.  This model improves over their previous W1 with a more robust dual-layer tube core design.  Here, the outer layer has a softer silicone material for a more comfortable fit and cushioning between the tube and the cap.  The inner layer has a durable textured material to provide a more secure fit over the nozzle to work with different IEM designs, even those with a smooth acrylic surface without a lip tip.  The fit is enhanced further with a triple-segmented core to grab tighter different nozzle shapes.  Even while sweating during workout, these stayed on without a problem.

Another improved feature of Omni is a tube length, being shorter than regular IEM eartips but also a bit longer than typical TWS eartips.  As a result, Omni can work with either one, having medium insertion depth into your earcanal.  And it even fits some TWS charging cases which I verified with Final ZE300, Noble FoKus, and Hifiman Svanar Wireless where I was able to close the lid while charging.  I also confirmed it to work with IEMs that have shorter and thicker nozzles such as Traillii which is thicker than 5.5mm.

As a bonus, SpinFit added a company logo printed on the outer layer of the tube core.  More of an aesthetic enhancement, I was surprised they haven’t done this before, but hope SpinFit will continue this trend with other models after Omni.

  1. Thanks Alex for this great review and comparisons with other tips.

    My go-to tips are SpinFit CP145 and W1.
    Depending on my IEMs, I use M or L size.

    What is your recommendation for the SpinFit Omni ?
    Should I also buy M and L size or should I get L and XL instead ?

    1. As you probably aware, due to iem nozzle diameter variation, sometimes you need to go up/down one size. In your case, I would get L size and test it with your iems to figure out which way to go and then decide if you need M or XL.

      1. Thank you for your quick reply. Excellent advice indeed.

        However I’m still wondering if I should go up or keep the same sizes (I intend to order 2 sets in two different sizes) ?

        SpinFit W1/CP145 M size -> SpinFit Omni L size
        SpinFit W1/CP145 L size -> SpinFit Omni XL size

        or

        SpinFit W1/CP145 M size -> SpinFit Omni M size
        SpinFit W1/CP145 L size -> SpinFit Omni L size

        As a matter of fact Omni width is 0.5mm shorter (and Omni height is about 1.5mm shorter as well).

        In Europe, these tips are not very cheap and we have only a few SpinFit distributors who charge expensive shipping fee. So I would like to avoid to order the wrong sizes or submit several orders.
